A representative of Per is shown in the photo above. We use no molds for our figures. Each face is handsculpted, one at a time, which means each face is slightly different and will not look exactly like the face in the photo. This is what makes each handmade doll unique.

Per is always busy at work now, gathering kindling or working on his home, preparing for the coming winter. There are plenty of tasks to do, but when his wood tote is heavy, and he is about to turn for home, Per always takes a moment to sit, and enjoy, his beautiful pine filled kingdom. Soon, cottontail tracks on deep snow will be the only sign of the narrow trail that leads back to his tiny, warm cabin.
Per is 14" tall (12" when seated), as measured from the top of his head (not the top of his hat) to the bottom of his boots. Per's houndstooth tunic is yarn-dyed cotton flannel, in two shades of green. His red sleeves are cotton flannel, his legs cotton velveteen and his hat is forest green woven cotton. We've constructed his boots, and belt, from a beautiful faux-leather textile made from pineapple leaf fiber, called Pinatex - it is sustainably sourced and cruelty free. A brass pinecone hangs from his belt.
Per's green ultrasuede tote is embelished with Swedish, woven-cotton, trim. (Please note that we are in the process of transitioning to the newest uiltrasuede, which is 30% plant derived) It is filled with kindling (red twig dogwood and bayberry). (Please note that all natural materials such as cones, bark or sticks, are high-heat dried prior to use)
Per's face is bamboo felt. His eyes are hand blown, hand painted German glass. His beard is handmade from natural flax fiber (grey). He is stuffed with a combination of recycled glass pellets and organic cotton stuffing. His arms are wired and his head turns.
All of our figures are 100% vegan. Per comes with a solid cedar seat (shown below and to the left), and a Legend of the Nisse story tag.
