A representative of Mikkel is shown in the photo above. We use no molds for our figures. We handsculpt each face, one at a time, which means each face is slightly different and will not look exactly like the face in the photo. This is what makes each handmade doll unique.
Emil comes with a "Folklore of the Nisse" story tag, and a solid pine seat.

Mikkel stopped to rest on an old birch stump. The falling snow that had started to blanket the forest floor reminded him that it was still winter, yet something in the light filtering through the trees hinted that spring was near. But no time to dally! It was the afternoon before Valentine's Day, and Mikkel's bag was still heavy with the acorns and hickory nuts waiting to be placed near hidden dens and nests. His raccoon and squirrel friends will be happy with their Valentine's morning surprises!
Mikkel is dressed for Valentine's Day! He has a lush rose cotton velveteen tunic. His pale pink linen/organic cotton sleeves are edged with decorative stitching and handpainted gold embellishment. His cotton velveteen hat is topped with an organic cotton yarn tassel. His legs are cotton velveteen and his boots are ultrasuede. A brass key hangs from his ultrasuede belt. He is covered with handstitched heart- shaped patches.
Around Mikkel's shoulder hangs a linen bag filled with Maine balsam, and embellished with a tiny gold glass bead.
Mikkel's face is bamboo felt. We sew his beard from natural hemp fiber (cream colored). His eyes were handblown in Germany. He is stuffed with a combination of glass pellets and organic cotton stuffing. His arms are wired. Unlike his larger cousins, his head does not turn.
Mikkel comes with a solid pine seat. He is 9" tall (8" when seated), as measured from the top of his head (not the top of his hat) to the bottom of his boots. (View here the design details for the small nisse.)
All of our dolls are 100% vegan.
Please note that Mikkel will be mailed within 3 business days of his order.
