A representative of Emil is shown in the photo above. We use no molds for our figures. We handsculpt each face, one at a time, which means each face is slightly different and will not look exactly like the face in the photo. This is what makes each handmade doll unique.
Emil comes with a "Folklore of the Nisse" story tag, and a solid pine seat.

Emil is a woodsman, for he seldom travels to the village and likes nothing better than to work on his little cabin, or to hike through the deep forests in search of firewood.
Emil has a yarn-dyed herringbone cotton flannel tunic and linen sleeves. His striped hat, which is topped with an organic cotton yarn tassel, is a linen-cotton blend knit. His legs are cotton velveteen. Emil's boots are ultrasuede. A pewter key hangs from his ultrasuede belt. He is covered with handstitched patches.
An ultrasuede log tote, embellished with a small glass bead, hangs from Emil's arm. It is filled with kindling (red twig dogwood and bayberry). (Please note that all natural materials such as cones, bark or sticks, are high-heat dried prior to use)
Emil's face is bamboo felt. We sew his beard from natural flax fiber (blondish-grey in color). His eyes were handblown in Germany. He is stuffed with a combination of glass pellets and organic cotton stuffing. His arms are wired. Unlike his larger cousins, his head does not turn.
Emil comes with a solid pine seat. He is 9" tall (8" when seated), as measured from the top of his head (not the top of his hat) to the bottom of his boots. (View here the design details for the small nisse.)
All of our dolls are 100% vegan.
