A representative of Ellef is shown in the photo above. We use no molds for our figures. We handsculpt each face, one at a time, which means each face is slightly different and will not look exactly like the face in the photo. This is what makes each handmade doll unique.
Atle comes with a "Folklore of the Nisse" story tag, and a solid pine seat.

Ellef started out for his hike
before the sun had even risen.
He wanted to get to his favorite spot -
a familiar rock wall with a clear view to the
east. He was not too late!
What a beautiful sunrise of orange and
stripes of blue ... he was ready for
the day!
Ellef has a cotton velveteen tunic in a beautiful dark cherry color, lined with yarn-dyed cotton flannel, and brown cotton velveteen legs. His yarn-dyed sleeves are Japanese cotton fabric. His hat, which is topped with an organic cotton yarn tassel, is cranberry, organic cotton knit. Ellef's boots are ultrasuede (now 30% plant-based), as is his belt, from which hangs a pair of pewter keys.
An old-style velveteen water flask, embellished with a small glass bead, hangs around Ellef's shoulder. (Please note that all natural materials such as cones, bark or sticks, are high-heat dried prior to use)
Ellef's face is bamboo felt. We sew his beard from natural flax fiber (blondish-grey in color) and hand-paint his blue glass eyes, which were handblown in Germany. He is stuffed with a combination of glass pellets and organic cotton stuffing. His arms are wired. Unlike his larger cousins, his head does not turn.
Ellef comes with a solid pine seat. He is 9" tall (8" when seated), as measured from the top of his head (not the top of his hat) to the bottom of his boots. (View here the design details for the small nisse.)
All of our dolls are 100% vegan.
