Here at the Folklore Doll Company, we strive to bring the charm and imagery of folklore to life with handmade dolls, and to put the workmanship that was typical of "Once upon a time" into each doll we make. We began in 1992, under the name of North Wind Designs, with a small elf doll, based on a character known in Norwegian folktales as the "Nisse". Over the years we have added new folklore dolls, including witches, trolls, wizards and others.

Each doll that leaves our small workshop, here in Maine, is a signed original design, hand-made using only top-quality, natural materials.
